About the Practitioner
Anne is founder, OD practitioner, coach and facilitator at MAD Learning Pte Ltd, a company she started in 2005. MAD is an acronym for Make A Difference.
Her passion and mission today; ‘To lift others to their Success ~ at work, home and in the community’. Anne thrives by living what she calls her 10-10-10 life-by-design. An average month is made up of 10 days of corporate work, 10 days of blessings (volunteer) work and 10 days for self-care, personal development or simply to ‘hang out’ with family and friends.
Corporate workdays are meaningfully occupied with leading organizational development projects, facilitating leadership competency training and team dynamics workshops and engaged in executive & team coaching. Anne derives great pleasure from leading the BrainWise Future-Ready Leadership programme. This highly experiential programme was co-created by the MAD crew based on neuroscience, mindfulness, well-being and positive psychology theories, methods and research.
Anne’s work experience includes being in senior management, business development, HR, training and customer care with work in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, US and Europe. These experiences provided Anne with the opportunity to work with diversified teams in very dynamic, culturally different and challenging environments.
In the four years as Country Manager of ECCO Personnel Services (now known as Adecco Group), Anne was instrumental in the set-up of their 5 offices as well PF1, a joint venture between IBM and ECCO. Anne later took on a position based in HK and was responsible for the set-up of offices, training of staff and operations in the Asia region before moving to Australia as the number 2 persons in-charge of their 37 office Australia wide.
After about 6 years working outside of Singapore, she returned home and joined COMAT Training Services ~ An awarding winning Microsoft Authorized Training Partner as General Manager and co-owner. After 14 successful years, surviving Sept 11, SARS, Asian Financial crisis, 3 recessions and a ‘one-million-dollar mistake’, the company was sold in March 2001 to ST Training & Simulation. Anne continued to work with COMAT, rebranded as Knowledge Alive, as Senior VP ~ Mergers & Acquisition.
In summary, Anne’s roles included:
• Senior VP of KnowledgeAlive Pte Ltd – joint venture between ST Training & Simulation and Horizon Education Ltd after the acquisition of COMAT Training Services.
• General Manager and co-owner of COMAT Training Services – This is the team that Anne credits for inspiring the set-up of MAD Learning.
• Area Director of ECCO Personnel (Australia) Ltd
• Regional Training and Operations Director of ECCO (Hong Kong) and
• Country Manager of ECCO Personnel (Singapore) Pte Ltd. ECCO today is known as ADECCO.
In 2002, Anne ‘retired’ and in early 2005, she ‘got out of retirement’ and started MAD Learning.
Her clients include organizations such as P&G, Collins Aerospace, Sembcorp Industries, Luxasia, MOE, A*STAR, Oracle, Standard & Poors, Microsoft, BASF, Ministry of Manpower, CapitaLand, National University of Singapore and Public Service Division. Most have been with MAD Learning for over 10 years. Over the past 15 years, apart from work in Singapore, Anne has lead OD, Leadership and team training and coaching projects in Malaysia, Indonesia, Dubai, Oman, Thailand, China, India, Vietnam and in the UK.
Blessing (volunteer) work is a big part of Anne’s ‘giving back’ initiative. As an active volunteer since her early 20s, Anne spends her time coaching and counselling youths, couples and families. Time is also spent offering corporate services on a pro-bono or low-bono basis to charity organizations. Anne’s husband since 1987 often describes her as a full-time volunteer and a part-time businesswoman.
To honor her many successes, Anne is featured in the book ‘Barrier Breakers’ for her personal success against all odds. In Sept 2005, Anne was a Mentor at the Bali Entrepreneur Business School ~ for Enterprise Value – Teams ~ How to create and retain a high performing team. In 2008, she was awarded the ‘Unsung Hero’ Award by Rotary Club of Singapore for her volunteer work with Make A Wish Foundation, Singapore. During the dot.com period of the early 80s, Anne played an instrumental part in the set up of YouCanDoMore.com – where a group of IT companies got together to ‘Make a Difference’ with under-privileged children.
Today, Anne continues living her dream of ‘Making A Difference’ by supporting others to their success and contributing to a better world for all. With more than 40 years of corporate work experience, a big heart and positive energy, Anne is passionate about bringing out the best in every person, team and organization.
Anne believes that a life worth living is where each contributes to making this world a better place for all. Her boundless energy, irresistible charm and sense of humor is an inspiration to many.
